It may still be quite warm here in Houston, but it's officially November, which means we're hitting repeat on Ella Fitzgerald's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and dusting off those holiday candles from last December. It's also that time of year that we're ready to warm up our homes with cozy accents to really create that nostalgic, wintery atmosphere.
Last Winter, one of our team members traveled to Eleven Experience's Deplar Farm - an incredibly beautiful, off-grid hotel in the north of Iceland. The interior was designed by Blake Pike of No. 12 Interiors, who really hit the mark on that cozy feeling. Her use of wools, plaids, warm woods and faux furs makes you feel as if you've just been wrapped up into a soft blanket! We love Pike's use of neutral colors with wintery patterns and soft materials - perfect for creating a warm atmosphere without going crazy with the typical holiday reds and greens.
We've picked out a few items below, as inspired by her work, to help you get started on that "lite" winter/holiday decor. We love windowpane wool pillows paired with faux fur throws like these and these; brass accessories like this and these paired with a wooden basket for log or throw storage by a crackling fire. A pretty table game like this one is perfect for wintery nights at home (bonus: it's also a great gift!).
